The Human Series
There are times when emotions hit me hard. Since I’m not good at processing that information, I let it flow out of me and onto canvas (or paper). Using a combination of acrylic pouring and what I refer to as “planned pouring”, I use the paint to keep me from drowning. I find this method to be the most soothing because it requires immediate attention to a myriad of details including the fluidity of the paint, properly saturating specific areas and stopping any paint bleed that might happen. The planning process itself can take days, which also helps me to stop focusing internally.
The Working Dog Series
These are three of the first paintings I did when I retired from dog training. I needed something to immortalize the amazing creatures I had spent so long learning and this is what came out: The Working Dog Series. They represent both the world of the competitive bite sport dog and the dog on the street.
